The Ground Control Station has now been completed. Tim sent me the following pictures yesterday. You can see that it all fits nicely into a single transport case that is smart, protective and easy to carry.
All the components of the GCS fit neatly into the case and are protected from damage during reasonable handling. From left to right, the joystick controller, computer, transceiver and charging equipment and leads fit into individual compartments. The downlink monitor and antenna fit into the lid.
For operation of the GCS, it is not necessary to remove the components from the transport case, though the antenna may be mounted on the roof of a vehicle. An external power supply, such as a generator or car battery will normally be connected to the case.
Meanwhile, the airframe is being fitted with the autopilot today. Skycam UAV is still waiting for a few components to be delivered.
